after seeing the recent tim walker images on mechanical dolls for italian vogue, i decided that one of my many costumes for halloween this year would be a wind up doll. while perusing online for some inspiration, i came across these pretty amazing images on body pixel of severed dolls by yotsuya simon.

slicing the lens.
whenever i see the work of paolo roversi, i feel as though i am looking through a peep hole into a world of dark fantasy. this specific story was shot for vogue italia in the september 2011 issue. i feel like storing his work in a wooden box marked with symbols and lined with crushed velvet only to be viewed under the faint glow of the moon.

ellipsis. a simple three dots. that is all that remains after leaving new york city’s blackout haunted house. to the naked eye those dots seem only to be a logo. but to the hundreds of brave souls who venture from across the globe to experience this vortex of horror, it is perhaps seen more as a warning that the experience never truly ends…
